This is one of the best family beach destinations that the state has to offer. You’ve got everything a good beach should have: space, cleanliness, fishing, surfing, and let’s not forget a fantastic view. There is also a lengthy boardwalk with numerous activities to enjoy, plenty of golfing available – including mini-golf for the kids, and even horseback riding. Grab a blanket, get your umbrella setup, and you’ll have the perfect relaxing afternoon.

This beach is a great option to consider if safety is one of the first things on your mind today. There is a beach patrol presence from the Bethany Police that is out there regularly, so you’ll always have the assistance you need. There’s also plenty of entertainment options available during the summer months, along with all of the usual beach fun that warm sand has to offer. Spend the afternoon by the waves, the evening along the boardwalk, and you’ll have a great time.

If sitting on a beach all day isn’t your thing, then this Delaware beach option might be the best option for you. The waves are large enough to be challenging, yet not so strong that you’ll feel nervous about stepping up on a board. After a day out on the water, come back to land and enjoy the museums that are offered, including a shipwreck museum. Don’t forget about a visit to the lighthouse as well before you call off your exploration efforts for the day.

If you love swimming and snorkeling, then rent your equipment there or bring your own and you can spend as long as you want in these waters. Just make sure to book your space here early in the season if you plan to stay on a holiday – rooms and rentals book up fast.

If you like having a quiet beach, then this might be the right place to visit in Delaware this year. Bring your cooler along with drinks and food so you can plan your own good time. There are parking fees at this beach, but they pay for the cleanup service that takes care of it on a regular basis. There are snack stands available if you want them, showers available, and miles of beach to explore. It can get busy on a warm day, however, so consider showing up a little early in the summer to make sure you get the space you want.

If you want to have a clean beach, exploration opportunities, and plenty of space to yourself, then this Delaware beach has not quite made it onto the tourism radar as of yet. This is a great beach for those who like the fun of beach driving, but you’ll need a 4WD to make that happen. Fishing opportunities in the ocean are plentiful at this beach as well. Pack your supplies in, then pack them out at the end of the day, and you’ll have a fantastic time enjoying a sunny day.

This is another one of those long, wide beaches that tourists haven’t discovered yet. If you love camping at the beach or singing around a bonfire, then this is the place that you’ll want to go. There’s plenty of room for beachcombing if that’s what you like to do, while the beach itself is perfect for a canopy, a beach towel, and a good book. Enjoy the sounds of the incoming waves, take your flip-flops off to relax, and you’ll end up creating one of the best ever days.

This is one of the smaller beaches that you’ll find in Delaware, but don’t believe that size means everything when it comes to a quality experience. Many of the rentals are just steps off of the beach and a local state park offers camping options and beach access as well. A small town helps to support the beach, with a popular stop being the ice cream parlor on a warm day. Take your ice cream cone for a walk along the beach, have a romantic weekend away if you wish, and the outdoor experiences that Delaware offers here will blow your mind.

It offers a nice balance of fun and peacefulness that makes it perfect for a visit. Come here for a family reunion or just bring the kids to enjoy the tax-free shopping on the boardwalk. There are plenty of fine dining options available here, plus biking and jogging trails that complement the beach-walking experience. If you want to do what you please and relax in your own way, then you won’t be disappointed by what this beach has to offer.
